Today's goal-reaching videos: Mario Strikers Charged

We collectively yawned a few days ago when the latest Mario Strikers Charged trailer appeared online -- it's a pre-animated video with no in-game footage. But the U.K. Mario Strikers commercial tipped us over the edge, and we're showing those videos in this post, especially after today's news of a U.S. July 30 release.While we're glad that the Wii is getting some online action, we chortled at the tagline of "the first online game on Wii." How about "finally, an online game on Wii"? At least the ad doesn't pretend that Mii Parade is a game.

This game looks great! The online play sounds like it works perfectly for this game.
Can't beat 2 play co-op; Then taking your friend online with you to own up some other fools!
If you meh at this, you've got some issues. :)

the highest 8.7 out of 10.
I don't see "meh" written anywhere on it! and lol at the people not giving it a chance! the Multi-player is going to play great!

I have to admit. The only looks quite good. Now, i'm not going to lie. An Xbox Live type service would be awesome. But, when it comes down to it, its about playing with other people. And thats all that matters right?

I think it will be fun. The first one was a blast t oplay for like the first three or four months. After that it got boring. The online will definitely add to the replay value of this game.

If they don't have the option to turn Super Strikes off in online play I will be one sad panda.
The Super Strike feels forced and detracts from Mario Strikers true strength, its incredible flow. No other sports game allows for plays that last 30 seconds that you can trace each action back to something you've done.

My monitor's screwing up and displaying red wherever there's black. Given the abundance of both red and black in that second video, it kinda make things weird.
I haven't decided whether that makes the video more awesome or less awesome.

Its a fun Gamecube series but it definitely does not have MUST HAVE written all over it. I wonder why this Game couldn't have been ported to the Cube, it sure looks like a Cube game.

Strikers was a big surprise for my hometown gaming clique. I got it for my birthday from one of them, and we've been playing it ever since. It's our current top game. For us in particular, Charged is a must-have game.
It looks pretty compelling. One of our group is really skeptical of Wii-style controls, but the relatively minimal use of it in this game might win him over.

This is the Wii game that I am most excited about, even more so than the big 3, and I'm not normally into sports games. In my opinion Strikers has picked up where the classic NBA Jam: Tournament Edition left off. The mega strikes are the modern spectacular dunks, the ridiculous items have replaced the hot spots and Juice mode, and it's all about turbo fouling. And now it has online play, player-specific jukes and power-ups, and crazy levels with no walls or even Thwomps. The only thing this game is missing is the unstoppable Malone/Stockton duo and an announcer screaming "BOOMSHAKALAKA!"
